2016 thoughts and grade: Considered by many to be the best player in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey is a perfect match for Dave Caldwell and couldn’t come at a better time. Not only is he a long corner that Gus likes for his defense, he was one of the best athletes at the combine. The only knock against Ramsey was his lack of interceptions (only 3 in 41 starts at FSU). In the post pick press conference, Caldwell stated that the lack of interceptions was due to teams not throwing at him as much. Totally believable. If Ramsey can prove he can add some interception ability to his game, he is going to be able to shut down half the field for the Jaguars. I’m going to say that this pick will be one of the best in team history, right up there with Boselli at 2 in 1995, Fred Taylor at 9 in 1998, and MJD at 60 in 2006 (too early to tell for Bortles).

Draft grade: A+
